About Me
Tisha Misquita (she/her) M.Ed., RP (Qualifying)
Hi, I’m really glad you’re here!
I’m Tisha, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) based in Toronto. I work with adults who feel stuck in their relationship with food, their body, and emotional patterns that feel hard to shift.
I'm a first-generation South Asian Canadian and a cisgender woman. These parts of me, along with my training as a psychotherapist, inform the care I bring to this work. I’m mindful of how culture, family expectations, gender roles, and systemic pressures can shape our relationship with food, body, and self—often in ways that go unseen or unnamed. I hold deep respect for everything you’ve lived through and the emotions that come with it, and I bring that understanding into the space we create together.
I believe in the power of feeling seen, heard, and understood. Our work together is about helping you reconnect with your own voice, strength, and sense of self.
My Approach & Values
My approach is grounded in supporting growth, healing, and meaningful transformation in ways that feel respectful, collaborative, and sustainable to you.
I take an integrative and client-centred approach, drawing from a range of evidence-based therapies such as Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), integrative Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), along with other therapeutic approaches, to meet you where you are and tailor our work to what you need.
I practice from a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and culturally responsive lens to therapy. I recognize how identity, culture, and systemic factors can shape your experiences and your relationship with yourself and others. In our work, there is space for all parts of who you are.
Respect for your unique story and lived experience
Compassionate and collaborative care
Cultural responsiveness and systemic awareness
A focus on building sustainable, meaningful change
Honouring your pace, needs, and goals
